Energy Boost

DSC03518This is mostly seeds, dried fruit and spices, ground up in a cuisinart, and stored until you need it (probably more nutritional to eat it relatively soon after grinding). The amounts and ingredients can vary, but here’s an idea:

Put into cuisinart:

Approximately 1/8th cup each:
flax seeds
hemp seeds
buckwheat groats (ideally sprouted and dried)
sunflower seeds
sesame seeds
shredded coconut
peanuts or peanut-butter (or other nut or nut-butter)

Add sprinkle of:
chia seeds
maca powder
cocoa powder
moringa powder
allspice
cinnamon
cardamom
nutmeg
chili pepper (optional!)
1 tsp fresh ginger or 3 cubes candied ginger

juice from 1/2 lemon (or more)
vanilla extract
2 tbsp psyllium husks (optional!)

Add 1/4 cup dried fruit, sliced (so as not not kill your cuisinart):
bananas / raisens / dates / prunes / etc (a few kinds is fine)

Optional: 1/8th cup chocolate chips

GRIND until mostly powdery, may clump a bit.

Add sprinkle of cocoa nibs.

Put into jars/baggies for use later!

Mix with a BIT of water and eat in a bowl, or add to smoothies.

Great for backpacking!
